In total the rental period is one year, but the contract is signed for 6 months at a time. As long as everything as worked well with you as a tenant the contract is renewed for another 6 months. This is due to the rules of the brf/tenant-owner association. You can move in as soon as the brf has approved you as a tenant, preferably in March or the beginning of April.

What do I expect from you? That you are pet- and smoke-free, tidy, treat both the apartment and neighbors with respect and that you are easy to deal with.
